Up to date for the new year....

Well...I haven't been writing in a long time!! (Since Christmas:(...) I don't know if anyone reads this anymore but my mommy feels bad because Brady's first year is over and we didn't write that much about it. Here is a quick catch-up: Santa came and brought Brady and me lots of toys, then the ear infections started (me first, then Brady)....the new year came and so did the snow...and more ear infections... I learned to write my name in time to make my Valentine's for everyone and Brady started walking on Valentine's Day....then more snow and then strep throat....and then we both got ear infections AGAIN...we have lived at the doctors the past three months...and then finally BRADY turned one and spring is here!!! I hope we turn the corner and we don't have to get tubes for our ears (keep you posted)!! That just about sums it all up for now...~Ethan

On the move....

Things seem to be always on the move around here. I am loving pre-school and love going to soccer on Thursdays. Brady is crawling everywhere and eating some type of new food everyday. He loves saying "da, da, da, da" all day long!! I am trying to get him to say ETHAN but it hasn't worked yet, he just looks at me and smiles. We're getting there....

Things have been so crazy the last two months. My baby brother is still here...I am just now realizing that he is staying!! Don't know how I feel about that....everyday is different. He is finally here...

Brady Lee Conklin (my brother) was born last week March 23rd. He was 8lbs 4ozs and 19 1/2 inches long. He loves to let me kiss him and put his pacifier in when he cries. I wish he was bigger so he could play with me but he is fun to hold now!! Mommy and Daddy are both home this week so we are having lots of fun family time...can't wait for you all to meet my baby brother!! ~Ethan

Go, Go, Go....

We have been on the move since Christmas day! Santa was very good to me this year....I must have been a good boy. We spent Christmas morning at our house and then headed down to Richmond (Granny and Papa's house) for Christmas dinner. We stayed there until Monday and today we packed again because tomorrow we head up to Jersey (Grandma and Papa's house). All this running around has made me not feel so good....so tomorrow Daddy is taking me to the doctor to check my ears out and Mommy is going to the doctor to check on Baby Brother!! It's almost time...

This weekend I went to my first soccer practice. Well... we didn't do much soccer but I had fun running around. My girlfriend Emma is in the class with me and it is always fun to see her!! We just got back from the beach last night...I had so much fun! All the days run together but to sum it up....beach, sandcastles, kiddie pool, lazy river, ocean, sharks, saw fish, pirates, fire at the Japanese restaurant...that's all I can think of right now! I can't wait to go back and neither can Mommy and Daddy. It was just what we needed right now.

2 years old...

So the day has come and gone....my birthday that is!! I am now two years old and Mommy and Daddy are starting to understand the meaning of terrible two's. I had a great birthday and got everything I wanted and much more. Well all I really wanted was cake...and Mommy and Daddy took care of that.

More Room Please...

Mommy, Daddy, Granny, and Papa brought me up a new bed from Granny and Papa's house this weekend. It is nice and big so I don't have to sleep on the floor anymore. Growing up too fast...

The past few weeks have been so much fun for me!! Last weekend I got to go on an airplane to see where Granny and Papa grew up. They grew up in Oklahoma/Texas (right on the boarder) you can see for miles. We all have been trying to catch up on sleep this whole week.

Big Boy...

The past few days have been so much fun! Mama and I have been going outside everyday. Winter time is not so much fun...

The past three weeks have been a roller coaster ride for me! I have not been feeling the greatest. I seem to catch every bug that is out there. On the road again...

Things have been crazy around here the past week. We got up early last Saturday and headed up north to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Mommy went to go visit her friend from college, it was her 30th Birthday...Happy Birthday Kristin!! Then we headed back home on Sunday, in time for the game of course...Go Giants!! On Tuesday I had my Little Gym Graduation, that was fun but I will miss the class. Yesterday Mommy and I hung out at home and today I have Music class. Getting back to normal...

The past few weeks have been a roller coaster ride for me. I had an ear infection, then got some virus that gave me 104.7 fever and then it all ended with a nice rash (Roseola)!! But I am back in the game now...I got to go to little gym today and run around for the first time in three weeks. I think Mommy might have been more excited then me to get out of the house! She told me today that now that I am feeling better we can go shopping everyday...Daddy didn't care too much for that idea. Happy Thanksgiving....

So...I am not liking this whole milk that Mommy and Daddy keep trying to give me. I would much rather drink water. Fall has finally come...

Mommy and Daddy love the fall...so they say! Daddy likes it because of football and baseball playoffs...and yes the Yankees are in:)! Mommy loves the weather and takes me on runs in my jogging stroller. Yesterday we went to a place called Cox Farms. I went down some slides, went on a hay ride, and got to see some farm animals too! Back Home...

It has been a world wind trip for the past week or so! We started off stopping by Granny and Papa's house in Richmond, then spent a week at the beach and topped off the trip with a William and Mary football game. Lions and Tigers and Bears....

OK... so I didn't see any lions or tigers but I did see Panda Bears!! Yesterday Mommy and Daddy took me to the zoo. It was a spur of the moment trip. We started out downtown at the Eastern Market and then went to Union Station and ended up at the zoo. We walked around for a couple of hours, it was such a nice day. I saw elephants, hippos, cheetahs, and orangutans too! I can't wait to go back again someday...~Ethan

They finally got it...

Today Mommy took me to the doctor because my ears have been bothering me and the doctor told us that I have an ear infection. I have to take this yummy medicine two times a day! I guess Mommy and Daddy finally understood that my ears were hurting because every time I would play I always had to stop for a second and put my head down. Times are changing...

I have been a busy little boy since I turned one. I feel like it has been a non stop party for the past two weeks!! I mean who knew that turning one would be so much fun and I get to try some many new things everyday. Mommy and Daddy turned my car seat around so now I can see the road, I got to try cows milk (not the greatest but still giving it a try), I had cake for the first time and loved it, I got to order mac and cheese off the kids menu at dinner one night, and I even got to go to this place called the beach!! "Go Yankees"

Mommy and Daddy took me to my second Yankee game this weekend. Yes, they lost but I am still a fan!! The game was in Baltimore on Saturday night. I lasted until about 10 o'clock and then I was done...it was hot and I was tired. So we headed home a little early and I think Mom and Dad were just as happy ... ~Ethan

Hanging with Aunt Angie and Cousin G....

Yesterday we went down to Richmond and had lunch with Aunt Angie and Cousin Grayson. We then went on a train ride around the mall. But the best part was I got to drive the cart with Grayson at the grocery store. "Aunt Angie whenever you need groceries call me and I will pick you up!!!" It was a fun day:). Oh and by the way I am walking now!!~Ethan

Slow down Mommy!!!

I think Mommy must think I am super baby or something. She has taken me all over the place the last two days. On Monday she woke me up from my morning nap to go see "Oh Susannah". I didn't mind that too much because my friend Emma was there with her Mommy and Grandma. It was a good show! Then yesterday she woke me up and got me ready to go see my friend Michael and his Mommy. His Mommy and my Mommy are college friends. It was fun to play with Michael's toys and we even got to go to the pool!! But I only got two 20 minute naps all day...not enough for a growing little boy like me!! When Daddy came home yesterday we asked Mommy what she had done to his little boy?? I guess my eyes were red and I looked very tired. So today Mommy said we can hang out at home and relax....good idea:)!! ~Ethan

Taking my first steps forward....

On Saturday I took my first four steps in a row!! Mommy and Daddy were right there to catch me if I fell...which I did! Now each day I keep getting stronger and stronger and before you know it I will be running fast like Daddy. So watch out here I come...~Ethan

My playroom is growing....

I love going down to visit my cousin Grayson in Richmond because every time I come home they send a new toy that he has grown out of or doesn't use anymore. This week on my visit down south I came home with a pooh bear walker/car and a ball crawl!! Mommy and Daddy are going crazy trying to figure out where all these things are going to go!! ~Ethan

One Year Ago....

This picture was taken last summer this past weekend of Mommy. They told me I was in the picture but I don't see myself;). We had a fun 4th of July...I got to go to my first Yankee game in New York!! I lasted until about the bottom of the 8th and went to sleep on Mommy's lap. The weather was perfect...not too hot and not too cold. I also turned 11 months old on Saturday...only one more month and I really am a big boy!! ~Ethan

Summer time at last!!!

Happy 30th Birthday...DADDY!!

Today is Daddy's 30th birthday!! We went and had lunch with him today...we had his favorite...pizza. It wasn't Jersey pizza but for Virginia this place was pretty good...so they say. Summer time....

It is finally going to be summer time...but...it is too hot for me!! Yesterday we had lunch with Papa and when I went outside the heat took my breath away. We might go to the pool today...Mommy got me some new floating thing that I can sit but we will see if I like it or not;)!! Happy Father's Day...DaDa!!
The thing I like best about the weekends is that DaDa is home and I get to hang-out with him all day long!! This morning we gave DaDa is Father's Day gift and he loved it...it is hanging above the TV already. Since DaDa likes to watch TV he can see the picture at the same time!! My Aunt Angie's Dad drew a black and white picture of me and if I do say so....I am one good looking little boy:)!! We also took DaDa to brunch and then came home and relaxed. Yesterday was a long day for us...it was my cousin Grayson's 3rd birthday party. We had a fun time...I liked watching all the kids run around...next year I will be able to keep up!! ~Ethan

Almost Standing....

I am getting really close to standing up all by myself. I can now stand by myself but I have to have help getting up. I still don't think I am quite ready to take that first step...way too scary for me!! I have had a fun day today. This morning we went over to Mrs. Tiph's house for a play date with Reid and Wes...they had so many toys to play with. I loved playing in the Thomas ball of fun!! I am getting excited for the next few days...tomorrow is Grandpa's birthday, Saturday is Grayson's birthday and Sunday is Father's day and to top it all off next week is Daddy's 30th birthday!! Moving right along....

I turned 10 months last week and things couldn't be better!! As you can see from the pictures Mommy is teaching me yoga...this is my downward-facing dog! I think it is pretty good for a 10 month old. I am also cruising along on anything that is my height and can hold me up. I had fun weekend...Uncle Chris, Aunt Angie, and Grayson came to watch me while Mommy, Daddy, Granny and Papa went to Susan and Derrick's wedding. They couldn't believe how many stars and cheerios I could eat...hey I am a growing little boy!! ~Ethan

Mommy and Daddy thought it was time for me to learn to feed myself...they didn't know it would be so messy!! Mommy thinks I might be a painter because I like to brush the food all over my face and highchair and not in my mouth...hey just give me some time and I will get the hang of it. Getting back to Normal...

The last week has been somewhat of a challenge for Mom and Dad!! I have not been feeling the greatest. I have a cold that just won't go away. So needless to say there have been many sleepless nights and long days, but things are finally getting better. We traveled up to Jersey last Thursday for Joe's wedding. I got to stay with Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Chris for the night and I gave them a run for their money. I guess I was a little too noisy for Aunt Chris...she chose to go downstairs and hangout with the cat rather then listen to me....sorry!! Today Mommy and I went on a walk around Burke Lake with Emma and her mom, Kristi. It was fun and the weather was great. It was so good that I took three naps today(one in the morning, one on the walk, and one this afternoon)...~Ethan

Best Mother's Day EVER....

So Daddy and I did good today!! We took Mommy to one of her favorite places in the world...no not Hawaii...but Williamsburg!! I had never been and it seemed like the perfect time to go. We had brunch at the Trellis and walked around Dog street and the campus. We picked up Cheese shop to take home and Mommy and Daddy bought me my very own William and Mary football...it taste better then their cheese shop:)!! 9 Months...

This week I turned 9 months old and I am really on the move now!! I like to touch and lick everything. Mommy and Daddy keep saying the word "No" a lot and I can't seem to understand why ;0)?!? Someday I will ... but for now everyday is a new adventure. ~ Ethan

Nap time....

So... I don't seem to like nap time anymore!! I only like to take one nap a day and Mommy seems to think I need two. I guess I feel like I am going to miss something if I take a nap too long or take two. I think I have some more teeth coming in but I don't like to keep my mouth open long enough for anyone to look inside. Other then that, things are going great!! ~Ethan

What a nice weekend...

It was finally nice enough for me to go outside!! Daddy had softball games on Saturday and Sunday. We didn't make it to the games on Saturday but we were there on Sunday. I think he did good;). I also made Mommy's day on Sunday...I said Mama for the first time!!! She was so happy...~Ethan

I had my first taste of "stars" the other night!! I am getting quite good at picking them up and putting them in my mouth myself. Mommy and Daddy did notice that every time I used my left hand to pick them up. They said I must have got that from my Granny and Grandpa, thanks!! Now Daddy has me on the fast track to being a left handed pitcher...for no other team but the Yankees!!! Speaking of the Yankees...how about A-Rod??? ~Ethan
